Theme: Called to Regions Beyond

SCRIPTURE: "...I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd" (John 10:16, ESV).

OVERVIEW: Since our movement's founding, Alliance people have rallied together to go to regions beyond - to "preach the gospel where Christ's name has not been named." Today, more than 3 billion "sheep" still live in places of the world where there is little or no chance to hear the good news. Our Good Shepherd is on a mission to bring these remaining sheep into His fold. He's called us to join Him, to go to regions beyond, guiding us with new strategies and opportunities to fulfill His Great Commission.

God has called The Alliance to new, exciting ways for going to regions beyond - together!  How will you and your church engage with your broader Alliance Family to join the Good Shepherd's call to bring more of His sheep into His fold?

CHOICE TOUR 2019-2020
The planning and schedules for the Choice Tour Mission Conference are not complete.  When everything is finalized with the International Workers, there will be an email sent in May to all churches on the Choice Tour with the names of all International Workers and details on how to schedule the IW of your choice.  In July each church receives a packet of resources from the National Office or you can download them from the National Office website. The missions conference consists of two tours; fall and spring which for this year will run from August 2019 to May of 2020.  We encourage all WPA District churches to have at least one missions emphasis per year.  Announcements will be emailed to all churches, posted on the WPA District website and added to the Heartbeat.  If you have questions, contact the District Office at 814-938-6920 or email piszkerr@cmawpa.org.

Why do we emphasize missions anyway?
It's simple. Jesus told us to "Go and make disciples..."  By the power and authority of His Spirit, He sends us on mission to the world - to Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and the ends of the earth.  So we go!

If we're serious about the Great Commission, we need to live very different lives. We may need to do risky things, sacrificial things, odd things. We may even need to be a bit odd ourselves.  You might even say "peculiar."

Annual Missions Conference
Every Alliance church is required to have an annual missions conference.  The WPA Choice Tour differs from traditional district tour in that it provides greater flexibility to the church. Instead of being assigned, the church may now choose its type of international ministries emphasis, dates, and international workers.  Twenty-eight weekends from September thru May are set aside during the year for churches belonging to the Choice Tour to schedule their missions conference.
